EDUC.1100 Introduction to teaching in Inclusive Classrooms

Description
The course provides preservice teachers with an introduction to literacy development and lesson planning. Preservice teachers will have the opportunity to teach small groups of students in a partner elementaroy school. Additionally, preservice teachers will begin to learn about culturally and linguistically sustaining practices. Students will alos learn about trauma informed and to be introduced to classroom management. Preservice teachers will be expected to demonstrate commitment, professionalism and appropriate dispositions for working with diverse learners. This course requires field work.
Prerequisites
Only students enrolled in BA Ed. degree program.
