Description
This course is focused on theoroy-driven and research-based instructional practices for effective writing instruction and assessment. Preservice teachers will learn about the relationship between writing, reading, and oral language skills. Students will also develop familiarity with research-based, relevant, respective, and inclusive grade-level standards and curricula. Preservice teachers will demonstrate an understanding of how to develop and implement instructional and assessment practices related to writing development that are rooted in supporting culturally and linguistically sustaining pedagogies and anti-racist perspectives to support all learners including learners with disabilities. There is a fieldwork component in this course.
Prerequisites
Only students enrolled in BA Ed. degree program.
