Description
This course is designed to introduce students to the basic principles of ethnomusicology beginning with a survey of the historical development of ethnomusicological thought form the late 19th century to the present Fieldwork methodology will be examined in depth, and a final project incorporating interviews, field observation, and musical transcription will allow student to put theory into practice.
