Proposal Reviews by Grant Consultants

ORD can arrange a full review of proposal narratives by Hanover’s grant consultants. Feedback includes suggestions to improve proposal writing, alignment with funder priorities, and overall competitiveness. Space is limited, so please complete the proposal support form well in advance of a proposal deadline to arrange a Hanover review.

Hanover Grants Learning Center (GLC)

Faculty and staff may access the for two self-guided virtual courses for step-by-step proposal development of:

  1. National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER and
  2. National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants

Each course contains training modules designed to walk faculty through the various stages of developing competitive proposals. The GLC includes hands-on tutorials, recent Hanover webinars, examples of winning proposals, annotated applications, and insights from past reviewers and Program Officers.

Hanover Grants Calendars

Hanover Research publishes monthly grants calendars organized by funding areas. These calendars include sponsors, upcoming deadlines, and brief descriptions of funding opportunities. You must have UMass Lowell (UML) credentials to access the .

Please check eligibility for each opportunity of interest; these lists are curated for a range of universities and institutions and UMass Lowell may be ineligible for some.

Webinars and Funding Newsletters

Hanover offers a range of grants newsletters and webinars available to UML faculty and staff, including:

  • Weekly Grants Alerts summarizing the previous week’s grant solicitations of interest from federal agencies and select private foundations.
  • Monthly Grants Projections looking ahead at major grant competitions in the higher education, health, and kindergarten to 12th grade (K-12) sectors.
  • Monthly Grants Webinars on various topics designed to enhance grantsmanship skills and deepen the knowledge of funding programs.
  • Monthly Grants Calendars mapping out grant opportunities of interest to different types of institutions and to faculty in different focus areas.
