Students come to UMLCS with a variety of concerns, and may meet one-on-one with a clinician to discuss their stressors. Reasons for coming in can range from a breakup, a poor grade, to depression, anxiety or alcohol abuse. Often, students feel significantly better after coming in for a few appointments. Other students may be in need of more support. Note: if a counselor feels that a student’s needs are greater than what they can provide or will needing ongoing support, they may refer them to an outside provider.
